Stretch Goal Unlocked: More Elemental Spells! (+ Water Lore! 💧)
over 1 year ago – Thu, Oct 06, 2022 at 03:04:08 PM

Hey everyone!

Elementara is now 200% fundedAmazing! Thanks so much for the overwhelming support. At this milestone, we've unlocked the 3rd stretch goal for the campaign: More Elemental Spells! This means that tons more spells will be included in the book, making each elemental spell list larger and increasing the number of options you'll have when customizing your magical arsenal.

What's Next?

Next up on the stretch goal list is the second of many elemental subclasses. At AU$ 70k, the book will include a courageous new subclass option for hydromancer fighters — 💧 The Sea Captain Archetype! This archetype focuses on leading their party with inspiring words and increasing their power with amplifying currents. And of course, fighters of this archetype are also experts at captaining a ship.

Here's some world lore for the Tidewalkers!

Many centuries ago, Ezara was thrown into chaos as seven gargantuan elemental anomalies ripped their way into its lands. One of these anomalies was the Eternal Maelstrom, a massive whirlpool that suddenly manifested in the Boundless Sea, whipping the once calm waters into a vicious, swirling current. This whirlpool transformed life for the Boundless Sea both below and above the water—forever altering the ocean floor and marine life, as well as tearing the surrounding islands from their bases and holding them magically aloft in the water, now swirling around the whirlpool's rim.

Those who resided on these islands experienced large-scale floods and destruction from the brutal waters as their once calm homes were tilted and rocked much like the islands they resided on. But during this destruction, the magic of the Eternal Maelstrom also revealed itself, as those islanders who were caught in its pull quickly discovered that—in their desperation to survive—they could now manipulate water itself, saving them from drowning in the depths and granting them newfound abilities. In the years that followed, those that resided in the Boundless Sea rebuilt their lives, while discovering the potential of their newfound powers. They began to use their powers to walk on water, drastically increase their ability to travel by boat, and improve how they farmed, among other things. Furthermore, they explored the depths of the whirlpool, finding an ancient, underwater city that would become the basis of an entirely new religion, and the core of a theocratic nation that would be formed many years later—the Tidewalkers.

Thanks again everyone!

Elementara is coming to Shard Tabletop!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 04, 2022 at 06:05:44 PM

Hey everyone!

I've very excited to announce that I have recently partnered with Shard Tabletop to bring Elementara to the virtual tabletop! If you haven't heard about Shard before, it is a virtual tabletop, character sheet, and campaign manager dedicated to 5th Edition games.

A Shard Tabletop VTT License for Elementara will now be available as an add-on in the pledge manager BackerKit, after the Kickstarter campaign concludes.

Crystalpunk is also coming to Shard Tabletop!

I'm also working with Shard Tabletop to bring Crystalpunk,  my previous 5e sourcebook to the virtual tabletop. The conversion for all of the content from that book will begin very soon, and the VTT License for Crystalpunk will also be available as an add-on in the Elementara pledge manager (and on the Shard Tabletop marketplace afterwards).

Social Stretch Goal Update

I've really been enjoying reading all of your suggestions for the social stretch goal! There have been so many amazing ideas. Right now, the first Kickstarter comments social quest has been complete, which is awesome. If you want to help spread the word, be sure to check out the campaign's Social Stretch Goal to help unlock the Community's Choice Poll!

Thanks everyone. I'm really looking forward to seeing these two books hit the virtual tabletop! Until then,

Introducing the Community's Choice Poll! (Social Stretch Goal)
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 28, 2022 at 02:32:33 AM

Hey everyone!

Now that we're well into the Kickstarter, I wanted to introduce you to a new Social Stretch Goal: The Community's Choice Bonus Content Poll! With this goal, I'm looking to do two things: get some help spreading the word about Elementara, and further expand the book with some great new bonus content chosen by the community.

By completing Social Quests as a community that help spread the word, you will be able to vote on a poll to determine what bonus content will be added to the book. And what's more, the poll will be populated by your content ideas. The graphic below explains how this all works (and is now also on the main campaign page).

I want to hear your suggestions for the poll!

What bonus content do you think would be interesting to add to Elementara? You could suggest something new like adding magic items or races to the book, or maybe even simply increasing the number of existing options in the book, such as the number of monsters. It could even be something very specific like a prestige class, I'm open to any and all ideas you may have!

If you have an idea, leave a comment on the main page or post about it on social media and tag @plusthreepress! I'll choose my favorite ideas and include them in the community's choice poll near the end of the campaign. If the list gets long enough, I might even make a round-robin tournament for the poll, that could be fun!

I'm really looking forward to hearing what content suggestions everyone has. Until next time,

Stretch Goal Unlocked: More Illustrations! (+ Fire Lore 🔥)
over 1 year ago – Mon, Sep 26, 2022 at 12:08:41 AM

Hey everyone!

Woah, we're at AU $40k already!! That means we've unlocked the first stretch goal, More Illustrations! This will allow for so many more amazing pieces of artwork to be featured in the book, which I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing all finished. Thanks so much everyone!

What's Next?

Our next stretch goal, which is at AU $50k, is for the first of many new elemental subclasses. This is a fiery option for pyromancer paladins —🔥 The Oath of the Holy Flame. Paladins of this Oath will share many tenets with the Ignited Empire itself: striving to spread their light with a burning passion, and bringing those that aim to quench the flames of others to justice.

Here's some world lore for the Ignited Empire:

Many centuries ago, Ezara was thrown into chaos as seven gargantuan elemental anomalies ripped their way into its lands. One of these anomalies was the Immortal Eruption—an event that began when Mt. Auror suddenly erupted into a flurry of volcanic ash and lava, covering the surrounding lands and decimating the surrounding settlements. Many, many died from this catastrophic event, but those that were not in the direct path of destruction swiftly noticed that they were not infected by the intense heat of their surroundings—the Immortal Volcano had awoken within them the element of fire, allowing them to manipulate fire, lava, and light as they wished.

These pyromancers began to forge a city around and within the volcano, their powers enhanced the closer they were to the center. They manipulated lava to carve out caverns and create settlements made of obsidian, created fire to cook food and power engines, and shaped light to brighten their homes. This nation naturally separated itself from the others, as it was almost impossible to enter and survive without being a pyromancer. It became known as the Ignited Empire.

That’s it for today, thanks again everyone!

Check out this awesome project—Amethyst (5e):

Amethyst is an acclaimed sci-fi/fantasy setting for 5e, currently in its final days on Kickstarter. The setting is a collision of fantasy and sci-fi in the post-apocalyptic future where the two worlds do not mix. If you backed my previous project Crystalpunk, Amethyst will be right up your alley!

Amethyst was the first major 5E publication to offer non-fantasy worlds, rules that eventually spun off into Ultramodern5, the definitive sci-fi rules for 5E. This Kickstarter is for the third volume of Amethyst, which will take the series to over 1200 pages of content—Check out the campaign here!
